Why Recology can't really take your couch
San Francisco's curbside bulky pickup runs through Recology, and a residential account gets only a couple of free bulky-item pickups a year, by appointment, with the item dragged out to the curb yourself. That's fine for the occasional chair — but it can't take a sectional from a fourth-floor no-elevator Victorian, it won't enter a SoMa tower with a freight-elevator and COI requirement, and the annual cap runs out fast. We pick up on your schedule, do the carry, and donate or recycle what's still good.

Yes — sleepers are $149 with the heavy pull-out frame included, and the crew locks the mechanism before the stairs. No oversized upcharge.
Do you take couches to donation?
A couch in good shape goes to donation partners first, so a usable piece furnishes another home instead of a landfill. What can't be donated is broken down so the frame metal recycles. All included in the flat price.
What if street parking is impossible on my block?
That's most blocks — the crew stages legally, hazards on where the city allows it, and plans the carry so the truck is curbside only as long as the loading takes. Parking logistics are our problem, not a surcharge.
How fast can a couch be gone?
Often today — book by mid-afternoon and same-day windows are usually open. The whole pickup is typically under twenty minutes once the crew arrives.
