Why a TV isn't curbside trash in SF

California bans electronics from the landfill, so a TV, monitor, or computer has to go to a certified e-waste recycler — and the old CRT and projection sets contain leaded glass that has to be handled properly. Recology won't take it as regular trash, and you can't leave it at the curb. We carry it down the Victorian stairs or off the hill, and route it (plus any monitors and computers) to e-waste recycling. The heavy old sets nobody else will lift are the same flat price.

Electronics we take

Built for SF's stairs, hills, and towers

You can't set a TV at the curb here, and a big set is awkward on a Victorian staircase or a steep grade. We bring the dismount tools and the people to get it down four no-elevator floors in the Mission, off a Nob Hill grade, or out the reserved freight elevator with a Certificate of Insurance on file in a SoMa or Mission Bay tower. A top-floor unit costs the same as the ground floor.
